Annoying Draco

An unusual pairings challenge from webbapettigrew.

Pansy glared as scathingly as she could, but it made no difference. Draco wasn't looking. His eyes were on the bench in the square, where Seamus Finnegan was sitting alone, fiddling with an assignment.

"You want me to do what?" she repeated.

"Finnegan is always with Potter's crowd. Find out why he isn't today."

"You want your girlfriend seen in public with..." Pansy sighed. "Fine. I think I'd rather be there than here at the moment, anyway." She stalked off.

Finnegan looked up, surprised. "What do you want?"

Pansy sat down. From the corner of her eye, she could see Draco with Gregory and Vincent, on the steps of Honeydukes. "I have a question."

"I have no idea."

"What?"

"Where Harry is. Me mam's not happy with him this year, and he's not happy with me. So you can go on back and tell them I told you everything I know." He smiled at her slyly. "Or you could stay here and annoy Malfoy. He deserves it, using a pretty girl like you just to get to Harry. Twisted, if you ask me."

"You don’t know what you're talking about."

"Don't I?" He looked over her shoulder and waved toward Honeydukes. "He's just watching you, Parkinson. You should give him something to watch."

"That's... disgusting," she said. But at the same time... it would serve him right.

He leaned close. "C'mon, don't you wonder what he'd do?"

Pansy knew what Draco would do--his face would go stiff and he'd ball his fists and glare and...

Actually, it would be rather delightful.

She put one hand on Finnegan's cheek, waggled the fingers of the other at Draco, and then kissed Finnegan firmly on the mouth.

His breath tasted like the cold October air, and his lips felt like a smile.
